Kickers

Kickers may just be a curved piece of rubber, but often the simplest things in fishing have the biggest impact, and they can improve the hooking power of all sorts of rigs. The Bent Hook setup was particularly effective at hooking a fish in the mouth, but also caused a lot of damage. That's why anglers have been using pieces of shrink tubing for years to replicate the effect. Kickers save all the hassle involved because they have the same effect, but now you simply slide one over the eye of your hook without having to steam anything. They're also perfect for use with spinner rigs. Some anglers like to camouflage their rigs as much as possible, and the green and brown versions are perfect for that, but on some venues, a brightly colored piece of tubing on the hook can make them more likely to be picked up. There are also mixed red-white and yellow-pink versions if you want to add a touch of color to your hook. Kickers are made of durable rubber and come in three different sizes to match your hook—small for sizes 10 and 12, medium for sizes 6 and 8, and large for sizes 2 and 4—so they sit securely over the eye.
